Bibb County grand jurors have indicted a 73-year-old Macon man accused of shooting a woman to death Dec. 4 while sitting in his wheelchair at an east Macon gas station.

Frank Louis Reeves is charged with murder and aggravated assault, according to an indictment filed Tuesday in Bibb County Superior Court.

Reeves allegedly shot 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutt, of Jones County, outside the Murphy Express station on Gray Highway.

Reeves, who lives near the gas station, told police he thought Hunnicutt was trying to hit his motorized wheelchair with her car. He also told officers he intended to fire his gun in the air to scare the woman, but shot her instead.

Attempts to reach Reeves’ lawyer were unsuccessful Tuesday.

Reeves was denied bond in January and is being held at the Bibb County jail.
