Jones County grants pardon for animals in local shelter

Published: February 11, 2013

Dogs and cats in Jones County’s animal shelter have been pardoned from execution this week.

Working with the rescue organization Paws for Hope and Faith, the shelter will grant animals a full additional week beyond their usual five days before the animals are euthanized, giving them more time to be adopted or pulled by a rescue group.

The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, and is located at 395 Eatonton Highway in Gray.

For more information, call Shane Smith, founder of Paws for Hope and Faith, at (478) 262-6875.
