Dogs and cats in Jones Countys animal shelter have been pardoned from execution this week.
Working with the rescue organization Paws for Hope and Faith, the shelter will grant animals a full additional week beyond their usual five days before the animals are euthanized, giving them more time to be adopted or pulled by a rescue group.
The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, and is located at 395 Eatonton Highway in Gray.
