Macon man injured in accidental shooting

Published: February 4, 2013

A 19-year-old Westside High School student was shot in the leg early Sunday morning when a gun accidentally discharged at his Perry Avenue home.

Joshua Isiah Milner, 24, of Lynmore Avenue, told police he grabbed his gun from atop a dresser and put his finger on the trigger, thinking there wasn’t a bullet in the chamber. The gun went off as he shook hands with his cousin, Shicobe Milner, and another man, according to a Macon police report released Monday.

Joshua Milner took Shicobe Milner to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Police don’t think the shooting was intentional because of the evidence and witness statements, according to the report.
