WR A.J. GREEN
2008 signing class
Hometown: Summerville, S.C.
High School: Summerville
Star rating: A consensus five-star.
Rankings: No. 7 in the nation overall, according to 247sports composite. No. 9 overall in Rivals. Ranked by Scout as the nation's second-best receiver - after Julio Jones.
Recruiting accolades: Parade All-American. Featured in Sports Illustrated as a high school junior.
Georgia career: Green lived up to the billing, finishing his college career with 166 catches for 2,619 yards - an average of 15.8 yards per catch - and 23 touchdowns. The only knock against him was staying on the field: Most famously, he was suspended the first four games of his junior season because of the jersey-selling incident. He also had injuries that caused him to miss three games as a sophomore. But when he was on the field he made spectacular catches and was a game-changer. He was a first-team all-SEC pick as a freshman, and named SEC freshman of the year by the coaches. As a sophomore he was again a first-team all-SEC pick, and was named Georgia's most valuable offensive player award. He slipped to second-team all-SEC as a junior, then declared for the NFL draft. He has quickly emerged as one of the best receivers in football.
