The GBI will perform an autopsy on a 25-day-old Macon baby who died a little more than an hour after he was rushed to The Medical Center of Central Georgia Thursday night.
Takeshi Chambliss, of Bonnie Avenue, told police she was rocking her newborn son in bed when his nose started to bleed and he vomited, according to a Macon police report released Friday.
Assistant Coroner Lonnie Miley identified the child as Tyshayn Haugabrook.
Chambliss, 22, dialed 911 at about 11 p.m. and the baby was taken to The Medical Center by ambulance, according to police.
The infants mother told police she had previously taken Tyshayn to the hospital Saturday because of a knot on his head which she contends medical staff told her was caused by his head taking form, according to the report.
She said shed also called a doctors office earlier in the week because Tyshayn was having breathing problems, according to police.
Quinterrance Haugabrook, 24, the babys father, told police he walked into the bedroom and saw Chambliss asleep with Tyshayn laying beside her with blood coming from his nose, according to the report.
