Kids and parents should arrive in style when the Grand Opera House rolls out its big, red carpet for Clifford, everyone’s favorite big, red dog.

Clifford will be on stage Wednesday evening in a new musical, “Clifford the Big Red Dog Live.” Families are invited to arrive early for free red carpet arrival pictures in front of the Grand starting at 5:30 p.m. Those who pose for pictures will be entered into a drawing to win a free copy of a Clifford book immediately following the performance.

“Generations of youngsters have discovered the joy of reading through the Clifford series of books. We are thrilled to bring him to life on the fabulous stage at the Grand,” Betsy Fitzgerald, executive director of the Grand, said in a news release.

In this new story, Clifford and company embark on an effort to put on a play on Birdwell Island. Emily Elizabeth wants to put on a musical revue with her best friends. Everyone has different ideas, but ultimately the kids decide that the story should be about Clifford’s life from puppyhood and how he got to be so big.

Clifford fans will love every minute, while seeing the value of teamwork and friendship when it comes to getting something done, the release stated. Plus, the show lasts one hour, so kids will be home in time for bed.
