The death of a woman who jumped from a moving car on Wednesday has been ruled accidental, authorities said.
Julie Davis, 52, was pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Central Georgia at 9:15 a.m. after the 7:10 a.m. incident on Fullwood Road off Ga. 96, three miles east of Fort Valley.
Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks said the death was ruled accidental, with the cause of death attributed to head injuries.
Sheriff Terry Deese said theres no doubt Davis jumped from the vehicle as it slowed down at a curve in the roadway, but authorities are in consensus she likely did not intend to hurt herself.
Davis, who most recently was living in Houston County with relatives, suffered from emotional issues, said her son, Jason Horne.
Horne said he does not believe his mother was in her right mind at the time of the incident and did not understand that she could seriously hurt herself.
He said she was devoted to her grandchildren.
