Two women were standing behind the shelter of a Capitol Avenue apartment building when a police car pulled up early Wednesday morning.
Celestine Rutledge had been shot in her thigh. A bullet had grazed LaSha Moores back.
Rutledge, 51, and Moore, 19, told Macon police they were standing with three men when two sedans passed by, headed north on Capitol Avenue about 1:15 a.m.
Soon the cars returned and several shots were fired at Rutledge, Moore and the men standing with them by the road, according to a police report released Wednesday.
The tan or silver Honda Accord and green Mazda sedan were each filled with men. The three men standing with Rutledge and Moore left before police arrived.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
