Bibb County grand jurors indicted a 19-year-old Macon man Tuesday on allegations he struck a woman in the head with a brick and raped her in the 1000 block of College Street on Oct. 18, 2012, according to Bibb County Superior Court records.

Desmond Deonta Gibbs, of Fourth Avenue, is charged with rape, aggravated assault and armed robbery, according to an indictment filed Tuesday.

After striking the woman and raping her, Gibbs allegedly forced her outside while holding the brick, according to a warrant filed in Bibb County Magistrate Court. He took her money and cell phone.

Gibbs was about to force the woman to take him to a bank to get more money when he was chased away by a maintenance man, according to the warrant.
