Police: Cross-wearing Bible-toter steals tip jar from Macon pizzeria

A man wearing a cross and carrying a Bible allegedly made off with a tip jar from Doughboy Pizza on Cherry Street on Monday, according to Macon police.

An officer later found 50-year-old Thomas Augustus Waller III, who confessed to stealing the jar and spending the money, according to a police news release.

Waller is charged with theft, two Superior Court probation violations, a special Superior Court probation violation and failure to appear. He is being held at the county jail on $650 bond, according to the release.
