Macon police are investigating the shooting of a youth playing basketball Monday night at Memorial Park gym, 763 Long St., according to a police report.
According to the report, officers arrived at the scene just after 8 p.m. and found the victim, who had been shot in the back of the leg. Witnesses at the scene told officers a fight began when one of the alleged shooters didnt like the colors the victim was wearing. A witness told police that two of the men jumped the victim before the shooting began.
Witnesses said they heard two or three shots, according to the report. The alleged shooter then fled on foot down Second Street toward Giles Street Lane.
Investigators found the shell casings of a .25-caliber handgun.
The victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
