Pre-kindergarten registration for the 2013-2014 school year in Bibb County will start next month.
Parents will be able to register Feb. 4-28 at the districts Welcome Center weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a school system news release.
When signing up their children for pre-K, parents will need to bring proof of residence--such as a current telephone, gas, water, electric or cable bill--the childs certified birth certificate and the childs Social Security card.
Students can attend pre-K at their zoned school or at Northwoods Academy.
Children entering the program must be 4 years old by Sept. 1.
Bibb County has 748 pre-K slots available, and children will be selected by a random computer lottery.
Parents will receive a letter in the mail between May 30 and July 15 if their children are selected for the program. Those who are not chosen will be placed on a waiting list.
Parents must attend an orientation session to accept their pre-K spot, and if they dont, the spot will go to the next child on the list.
For more information, call the Welcome Center at (478) 779-3700 or Northwoods Academy at (478) 779-3204.
