Citizen Police Academy gearing up

Registration is now open for the Warner Robins Police Department’s Spring 2013 Citizen Police Academy.

During the 11-week program, participants will learn about various areas of law enforcement including the hiring process, investigation divisions, SWAT team and use of force, according to a news release.

The academy will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursdays March 7-May 16 at the department’s training center at 212 Stalnaker Avenue. Classes are free, and participants do not need to live in Warner Robins.

Free seedlings in Perry

The city of Perry will celebrate Arbor Day Friday by giving away free dogwood seedlings. Seedlings will be available in front of City Hall from 9 a.m.-noon while supplies last. City Hall is located at 1211 Washington St.
