Macon man charged with shooting pedestrian

Macon police responded to a call Friday night in which a man was shot in the ankle in front of a residence on Winston Avenue, according to a police report.

The report said the victim was walking with a group of friends when they passed by the house of Edward Lewis “Bernard” Flowers Sr., 56, of Winton Avenue. According to the report, Flowers told the group to stop bothering him. The group responded they weren’t bothering him, but just passing by.

Flowers then allegedly drew a black handgun and fired into the group, striking the victim in the ankle. Flowers then ran back inside his house.

The victim was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia. Police charged Flowers with aggravated assault and took him to the Bibb County jail, where he is being held on a $16,700 bond.
