Macon man wrecks car after shot fired through window

Macon police are investigating an incident from Sunday in which a man crashed into brick mailbox housing after an unknown gunman fired a bullet into the side of his vehicle, a police report said.

According to the report, the victim was driving along Robert Henry Street near Antioch Road at 8 p.m. when he saw a black male, about 5-foot-6, wearing all red with his back to the road. As the victim passed the man, the man drew a gun and fired a shot into the driver’s side window of the victim’s 1985 Mercedes, causing the victim to lose control of the vehicle and strike the mailbox housing.
