A Moultrie man was sentenced Jan. 18 to 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole for trafficking in cocaine in Houston County. Marcus Jerome Anderson, 38, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Katherine K. Lumsden. Anderson also was ordered to 20 years probation after he is released from prison, according to a news release from the Houston County District Attorneys Office. In addition, he will pay a $300,000 fine. After other fees are added, Anderson will owe about $500,000, the release states. Anderson was arrested in Houston County after a traffic stop Aug. 11, 2008 for an improper tag display. About 200 grams of cocaine was found in the vehicle, according to a news release. District Attorney George Hartwig estimated the street value of the cocaine at about $40,000.
