Air National Guard Airman Caland Riley, from the Joint STARS 116th Force Support Squadron from Robins Air Force Base, removes a unitized group ration from a tray ration heater while preparing breakfast at the Kennedy Recreation Center while deployed to the National Capital Region in support of the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. The Guardsmen are part of a nine person team from Georgia joining more than 6,000 Guardsmen from 32 states and territories as part of the Joint Task Force-District of Columbia. Living and working in field conditions, the primary mission of the 116th was to provide meals from their mobile field kitchen to troops supporting the events surrounding the inauguration. A secondary mission included being sworn in as Special Police to assist the District of Columbia Police Department as needed. ROGER PARSONS — For The Telegraph
