PERRY -- A Houston County jury deliberated nearly four hours Thursday before finding a Moultrie man guilty of trafficking in cocaine.

Marcus Jerome Anderson, 38, is expected to be sentenced Friday by Superior Court Judge Katherine K. Lumsden, a Houston County District Attorney’s Office news release stated.

Anderson was arrested by Houston County sheriff’s Deputy Clay Chambers after a traffic stop Aug. 11, 2008 for an improper tag display.

About 200 grams of cocaine was found in the vehicle, according to the release. In an e-mail, District Attorney George Hartwig estimated the street value of the cocaine at about $40,000.
