WARNER ROBINS -- A 21-year-old mother and her 3-year-old child were held at gunpoint late Tuesday during a home invasion in the 500 block of Dunbar Road, police said.

Five men described in their late teens forced their way into the mobile home after she answered a knock at the door, a Houston County sheriff’s news release stated.

One of the teens put a handgun to the mother’s face as the others rummaged through the home, the release stated. The teens then fled.

Authorities were already in the area after a resident in 100 block of Sullivan Road reported a suspicious vehicle in his driveway. A handful of young men got out of the brown 1998 Buick Park Avenue but fled when the resident told them he’d already called the sheriff’s office, the release stated.

The incidents were about 10 minutes apart, the release stated. The gunman was described as a black male 5 feet to 6 inches to 5 feet to 8 inches tall and having a slim build.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact Houston County sheriff’s Sgt. Slate Simons at 542-2085 or 542-2080.
