Published: January 9, 2013

A 35-year-old man arrived in Atlanta Wednesday night after being extradited from a Mexican prison to face a murder charge in Macon.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force escorted Carlos Jose de Jesus Garcia on a flight from Mexico City Wednesday night, said Deputy U.S. Marshal John Edgar.

Garcia, who had been serving a prison sentence for robbery, was scheduled to be transferred to the Bibb County jail Wednesday night, Edgar said.

Garcia was indicted in 2007 in the April 29, 2007, shooting death of Antonio Valdovinos, 22, another Hispanic man outside Terrace Park Apartments on Williamson Road.
