Motorists traveling near Juliette might have to detour off Ga. 83 on Jan. 16.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced the railroad crossing near Berner Loop is expected to close for repairs on that Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

If weather permits, a detour is planned from Ga. 16 in Monticello to Jackson and south on Ga. 87 back to Ga. 83.

Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones.
