Some students already were sporting Middle Georgia State College T-shirts Monday, officials said, a day before the new college is expected to become official.
The University System of Georgia Board of Regents is expected to approve the merger of Macon State and Middle Georgia colleges Tuesday during its meeting in Atlanta. The consolidation will immediately go into effect, forming the new Middle Georgia State College with five campuses and nearly 9,000 students.
Middle Georgia State College is one of four consolidations the board is considering.
