I Love Macon gathering to be held downtown
Tuesday is the day to publicly affirm affection for Macon; 2 p.m. is the hour, and Rosa Parks Square is the place.
Mayor Robert Reichert and Bibb County Commission Chairman Sam Hart are scheduled to proclaim I Love Macon Day in front of City Hall on the corner of Poplar and First streets.
Its part of a late push by the I Love Macon campaign, organized by young local leaders in 2011 to boost civic pride and positive attitudes about Macon, according to the groups website, ilovemacon.org.
Theyre seeking 10,000 signatures on the I Love Macon pledge by Jan. 30. About 6,500 people have signed so far, according to ilovemacon.org, so theres plenty of room for more names.
