Demarcus Robinson has appeared to end a seesaw recruiting battle by committing to Florida on Monday morning.

Robinson announced on Twitter, “Gatornation here I come.” He later tweeted, “I love my gators can’t wait to arrive on campus.”

Both Clemson and Florida have battled for the Peach County wide receiver over the past four months.

Robinson initially committed to Clemson, then changed to Florida and back to Clemson before showing up to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio as an uncommitted prospect over the weekend. Robinson originally decided he would announce his college choice during NBC’s national broadcast, but he changed his mind. Peach County head coach Chad Campbell said via text that Robinson told him he’d make a decision on the flight back from Texas.

Robinson’s timeline was crunched even more than most players as he is set to enroll in college this week. Florida has a dearth of offensive weapons right now, and Robinson could earn early playing time by enrolling early and getting a head start with spring practice.

Robinson is a two-time all-state and two-time All-Middle Georgia player. Rivals.com ranks him as the fifth best receiver in the nation, the fourth best player in Georgia and the 48th best prospect overall in the country.
