Macon police think two shooting incidents may be related

Published: January 6, 2013

Macon police are investigating two shooting incidents Saturday afternoon that may have been related, according to a police news release.

Police are searching for a gold, tan or champagne-colored Honda Accord that was reportedly seen at both incidents.

In the first incident, officers responded to a person being shot at 2:03 p.m. at Freedom Park, at the basketball court at the intersection of Roff Avenue and Gardner Street, according to the news release. The victim, a male juvenile, was shot in the right arm.

He was treated at The Medical Center of Central Georgia and later released.

At the second incident, in the 3400 block of Morgan Drive, officers responded to a call that someone was shot at about 3:06 p.m.

The victim, a juvenile female, was thought to have been shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting at the residence. However, the victim had a bruise rather than a bullet wound.

Both cases remain under investigation. Anyone with information about either incident should call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
