Published: January 3, 2013

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a 37-year-old woman getting shot in the shoulder Thursday morning before being dropped off at a local gas station.

According to the news release, witnesses said Anita McDaniel of Macon was looking at cars at a used car lot on Pio Nono Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. when she asked for a ride from a couple she didn’t know at the lot.

As the vehicle traveled toward Macon, the male suspect, sitting in the back seat, demanded money from McDaniel. When she refused, the gunman shot her in the shoulder, according to the report. McDaniel gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and was dropped off at a gas station between Pio Nono and Houston avenues.

McDaniel is listed in stable condition at a hospital.
