Government meetings rescheduled because of New Year’s holiday

A number of government meetings are scheduled this week, with some at unusual dates or times because of the New Year’s Day holiday.

• Bibb County commissioners are scheduled to begin their committee meetings at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the board meeting at 6 p.m. Commissioners are slated to be sworn in at 9:30 a.m. Meetings are held in the fourth-floor board room at the Bibb County Courthouse.

• Committee meetings for the Macon-Bibb County Consolidation Task Force are scheduled for Thursday. The Human Resources Committee will meet at 1 p.m., tentatively followed by a Laws Committee meeting at 3:30 p.m. All task force meetings are in the offices of the Middle Georgia Regional Commission, 175 Emery Highway, Macon.

• Monroe County commissioners are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the County Annex Building, 38 W. Main St., Forsyth.

• The Macon Water Authority’s regular board meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the second-floor board room at the authority’s offices at 790 Second St., Macon.

• For Perry City Council, the work session that normally would have been Monday is rescheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m., and the next regular council meeting is Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

• Crawford County commissioners are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Paul Coverdell Room of the Crawford County Courthouse.

• The Houston County Commission, which usually meets the first and fourth Tuesdays of each month, instead will meet 9 a.m. Jan. 8 at the Houston County Courthouse and 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Houston County Annex.

• The Centerville City Council, which usually meets the first Tuesday of each month, voted to push its Jan. 1 meeting back a week. The meeting will be 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at City Hall.

• The Peach County Board of Education, which normally holds its work sessions the last Tuesday of each month, will have no December work session. Its first regular meeting of the year will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the board office.
