The white stuff might be a day late for Christmas.
The National Weather Service says snow could be seen in Middle Georgia on Wednesday evening, but no one here should be waking up to snow-slicked roads.
They could see a light dusting on some other surfaces, said Adam Baker, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Any light snow would likely evaporate before temperatures drop to just below freezing on Wednesday night, he said. Snow may accumulate in North Georgias mountains, but not in Middle Georgia. And any light snow or light showers should leave central Georgia by the end of the evening, Baker said.
A special weather statement warning of potential snowfall was issued at 4:21 p.m. to many Georgia counties, including Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties.
