That's Great, It Starts With An Earthquake...

Published: December 21, 2012

If you are reading this column, then I guess it means the world didn't end today. (Yay!)

I don't want to be an alarmist, but I was looking at the calendar on my wall and after Dec. 31... nothing! OMG, what does it mean?!

It's nice to think the world will spin for another day, though as a species, I'm not sure we've justified our existence, but that's a debate for another time.

Anyway, the network programmers have assumed that the world is continuing but that everyone is off somewhere for Christmas, because most of the stuff this weekend are reruns.

WEEKEND'S BEST BETS: Fox seems determined to burn through "Fringe" as quickly as possible, since it's the only network thing that's new tonight (Fox, 9 p.m.)

On cable, Capt. Jack Harkness himself, John Barrowman, co-hosts "The Brit List: Doctor Who Edition" with Asha Leo. While this should serve to whet the appetite for Tuesday's annual "Doctor Who" Christmas special, I'm concerned that most of the lists will be featured around the revived "Who" series and neglect the old-school episodes of the show that ran from 1963-89.

On Saturday, a whole lotta nothing, including two new episodes of "Made In Jersey" (CBS, 8 p.m.)

On Sunday, the "Family Guy" (Fox, 9 p.m.) episode that was delayed from last week because of the Newtown shootings.
