CENTERVILLE -- A Fort Valley man suspected in last week’s holdup of a woman outside the Houston County Galleria has been arrested in Florida, where’s he’s charged with a similar crime, police said.

Keondray Felton, 20, is being held in Leesburg, Fla., on a $50,000 bond, charged with the armed robbery of a woman outside a Kohl’s store on Monday, Centerville Police Chief Sid Andrews said.

Arrest warrants on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, simple battery and pointing a gun at another person were previously issued Friday for Felton in the Houston incident.

Police had information that he and another suspect had fled to Leesburg, Andrews said.

Felton is accused of robbing 40-year-old homemaker Shannon Cobb of Bonaire in the parking lot of the Galleria on Dec. 5. Cobb had her keys in her hand as she left the Sears store and headed toward her car shortly after 1 p.m. She said she was aware of her surroundings, having noted no one else was in the parking lot.

Cobb said she had barely crossed the street when she had an eerie feeling, like someone was behind her. She heard rapid steps from behind.

“Oh my God, please, no,” she thought as a man grabbed her right arm and her purse.

She turned to see who it was.

“Shut up!” she recalled the man yelling at her as he shoved a silver gun in her face.

“I let go of everything,” Cobb said. Her packages and keys hit the pavement. “He took the purse right off my arm.”

Cobb was able to identify Felton from a photo lineup, Andrews said. Cobb said she saw Felton meet up with another man who also was running, and whom authorities believe fled with him to Florida.
