A Houston Avenue store clerk was sweeping up Wednesday evening when she was grabbed by a masked robber who acted as if he had a gun, police say.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers were called to the Mini Foods at 4685 Houston Ave., where the clerk said she was told to lie on the floor as the man snatched money from the cash register and then left in an unknown direction, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

The robber is described as a black man with a stocky build, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a black ski mask, red hooded jacked and blue jeans.
