A 40-year-old woman was robbed Wednesday afternoon as she was leaving Sears at the Houston County Galleria mall in Centerville.

Centerville police Chief Sid Andrews said the woman was approached by two men in the parking lot who demanded she give them her purse. One of the men brandished a handgun, Andrews said.

The woman, who was not harmed, complied, he said.

One suspect was described as a black man, age 25-35, standing 5 feet 10-inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 175 to 200 pounds. The other suspect was described as a black man, age 25-30, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 140 to 160 pounds.

One of the men was wearing a red baseball cap, Andrews said.

The men were last seen running across Margie Drive toward Lenox Park apartments at 121 Margie Drive.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Centerville police Sgt. Phillip Pritchett at (478) 953-4222.
