Silent auction to benefit animals
The Warner Robins Police Department Animal Control Division is hosting a silent auction to benefit animals adopted by local rescue groups.
The auction features two original art pieces by Butler and Anthony Brown. Butler Brown is known for having one of his oil paintings hung inside the White House when Jimmy Carter was president. Anthony Brown is his son and a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Bidding will take place through Dec. 21 at Butler Brown Gallery and Custom Framing at 1849 Watson Blvd.. Money from the winning bid will help pay for spay/neuter procedures for animals adopted from the Warner Robins animal shelter by local rescue groups.

Auditions for Warner Robins play set
Auditions for Warner Robins Little Theatres production of Honeymoon at Graveside Manor (A Ghostly Farce) will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 2 and 3 at the theater.
In the play, newlyweds learned that they have just moved into a former mortuary known as Graveside Manor, which has been abandoned for years due to the rumors that it is haunted. Jerry Reppert directs.
Play dates are Feb. 15-16, 21-24, 28 and March 1-2. The theater is located at 502 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins.
Registration open for January baseball tune-up
The Warner Robins High School baseball coaches, team and Demon Diamond Booster Club will host its first Demon Tune-up 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 26 at the schools baseball field. The tune-up -- which includes hitting, pitching, fielding and base running instruction -- is for baseball players ages 5-13. The fee is $40 before Jan. 15 and $50 the day of the event. Lunch, a T-shirt and a snack are included. Parents are welcome to stay and watch in the stands. Registration may be send to DDBC, P.O. Box 7814, Warner Robins, GA 31095. Peach rec basketball registration under way
Registration is under way to play basketball with the Peach County Recreation Department. Basketball is open to boys and girls ages 6-12. To register, visit the recreation department at 205 W. Church St., Fort Valley from 3-5 p.m. or North Peach Park on White Road in Byron from 3-5:30 p.m. For more information, call 825-3334. The deadline to register is Friday.
MOAA meeting planned
