Macon gas station argument leads to woman’s shooting death

Published: December 4, 2012

A man shot a woman to death outside a Gray Highway gas station Tuesday afternoon after his wheelchair bumped her car.

The victim, Linda Hunnicutt, 65, of Jones County was at the Murphy Express on Gray Highway about 1:15 p.m. when Frank Louis Reeves’ motorized wheelchair hit her car, Macon police said in a statement.

Hunnicutt got out of her Buick Lucerne and had words with the 73-year-old Reeves. When she did, Reeves “displayed a gun,” then shot her in the chest, police said.

Officers that rushed to the scene performed CPR on Hunnicutt. She was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she was pronounced dead about 1:45 p.m.

According to Jami Gaudet, Macon Police Department spokeswoman, Reeves is charged with felony murder.
