• The Bears have now beaten an ACC program the past two years, topping Georgia Tech last year.
• Mercer head coach Bob Hoffman needs nine more wins to reach 400 for his career.
• USC Upstate earned the A-Sun’s first win over a 2012 NCAA tournament team, beating UNC Asheville on Thursday.
• Florida Gulf Coast has six wins; which it didn’t achieve last year until Jan. 4.
