The Mercer men's basketball team knocked off Florida State 61-56 on Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Bears improved to 4-4 with their first win away from home this season. Florida State dropped to 4-3.
The game was tied at 27 at halftime, but the Bears outscored the Seminoles 34-27 in the second half. Florida State led 51-50 with 5:43 to play, but the Bears outscored the Seminoles 11-5 the rest of the way.
Travis Smith led the Bears with 13 points, while Langston Hall had 10 and Jakob Gollon and Monty Brown each had nine. Bud Thomas added seven points and seven rebounds.
The Bears shot 37.5 percent from the floor (18-of-48) and from 3-point range (6-of-16), but they were 19-of-23 (82.6 percent) from the foul line.
