WARNER ROBINS -- The combination of a pizza joint mixed with Greek foods might not work for most places, but at Atlas Pizza, it does.
The restaurant is a small place that can seat maybe 30 people on a busy night.
Not to worry, as the wait staff was on top of things and quick to top off drinks as well as get our food out in a timely manner.
We ordered garlic bread with cheese and marinara sauce and had to order more because it was just that good.
I had the Italian side of the menu with the manicotti, which I adored. It was fresh and there was plenty of ricotta and mozzarella cheese filling with a tomato-based sauce on top with even more cheese.
The side salad that came with it was good.
Two of my dining partners had the gyro plate, which is served with lamb and beef with tzatiki sauce on pita bread. They raved about how tasty it was.
The gyro was fantastic, flavor wise, though it could use a touch more tzatziki sauce, one said.
He also commented that the Greek salads were the best in town.
The gyros were $6.99 each and came with a side salad. Another person had a hamburger and said for a pizza place, it was quite good. It was served on a Kaiser roll.
Two people in my party had pizza by the slice and said it was good.
Atlas claims to make their pizza dough fresh every day.
A slice of cheese pizza is $1.99.
The spaghetti and meatballs plate was a huge serving and came with a salad for $7.99.
Although the calzones were a good size, it didnt wow my guest, but at $6.99 for a cheese one, it wasnt too bad of a deal.
We had four teenagers and three adults and fed all of us for under $100 with leftovers.
This will be one of my regular places to go now that Ive had their food.
