Not-So-Last 'Resort'

Posted on November 29, 2012

A couple of weeks ago when I reported that ABC's "Last Resort" and "666 Park Ave." would be ending after their 13-episode runs, I speculated whether or not fans of those series ought to continue to watch since the storylines might end in the middle.

Well, in the case of "Last Resort," creator Shawn Ryan told TVGuide.com that there will be some sort of wrapping up to the series, so it's probably worth it for fans to stick around. Tonight's episode (ABC, 8 p.m.) is the eighth, so I assume the network will wrap everything up by December.

Meanwhile, I don't know how the cancellation affects "Park," so I can't say if fans should stick with it or not. I guess if you are enjoying it, you might as well watch with the knowledge that there will be some unanswered questions.

No word on what ABC will replace them with, although I suspect the network could use "Body of Proof" in one of those spots and/or the adventure series "Zero Hour," starring Anthony Edwards.

THURSDAY'S BEST BETS: You know, not having anything new to watch on Thanksgiving just underscored to me how much TV I watch on Thursdays, so it's nice that everything is new this week.

NBC returns its sitcoms, followed by "Rock Center" at 10 p.m., while CBS has "The Big Bang Theory," the filthy "Two and a Half Men," "Person of Interest" and "Elementary."

After "Last Resort," there's a new "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" from 9-11 p.m. on ABC, while Fox has results for "X-Factor," followed by a new "Glee" from 8-10 p.m. The CW airs "Vampire Diaries" and "Beauty and the Beast" from 8-10 p.m.

On cable, there's a new "Burn Notice" (USA, 10 p.m.) while FX has "It's Always Sunny" and "The League" from 10-11 p.m.
