Planning session with Bibb legislative delegation set for Tuesday

With the start of the Georgia General Assembly drawing near, the Bibb County legislative delegation is holding its annual session to hear from local leaders about their priorities and goals for the session.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce building. The invitees include the city of Macon, Bibb County government, the Bibb school board, The Medical Center of Central Georgia, the chamber, the Macon-Bibb County Convention and Visitors Bureau, NewTown Macon, and the Macon Water Authority.

Lawmakers want the officials to submit items for consideration that will affect their respective government or agency. As of Friday, all of the invitees had confirmed attendance except for the Bibb County school superintendent or board president, according to a statement from state Rep. Nikki Randall.

Here’s the schedule:

• 9-9:30 a.m.: Commission Chairman Sam Hart and Bibb County

• 9:30-10 a.m.: Ninfa Saunders, Medical Center

• 10-10:15 a.m.: Tony Rojas, Macon Water Authority

• 10:30-10:45 a.m.: Monica Smith, Convention & Visitors Bureau

• 11-11:15 a.m.: Laura Schofield, Newtown Macon

• 11:15-11:30 a.m.: Mike Dyer, Chamber of Commerce

• 12-12:30 p.m.: Mayor Robert Reichert, city of Macon

• 12:30-12:45 p.m.: Shannon Harvey, River Edge
