Georgia Tech to play in ACC championship game

November 19, 2012

The University of Miami announced early Monday morning that it will self-impose a postseason bowl ban for its football team, meaning Georgia Tech will represent the Coastal Division in the ACC championship game.

The Yellow Jackets will face Atlantic Division champion Florida State on Dec. 1 in Charlotte, N.C. The game will kick off at 8 p.m.

Florida State and Georgia Tech didn't play during the regular season and will meet for the first time since a 49-44 Georgia Tech win in 2009. The Yellow Jackets have won three straight games this season and claimed the Coastal Division berth by finishing 5-3 in the conference with a 42-24 win over Duke on Saturday. Georgia Tech, 6-5 overall, will complete its regular season by facing rival Georgia in Athens this Saturday.
