The Georgia Baptist Convention will hold its annual meeting at Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins next week.
About 1,000-1,500 Baptists are expected at the Monday and Tuesday event, said Eddy Oliver with the Georgia Baptist Convention.
A highlight of the meeting will be a talk by Fred Luter, the recently elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Luter, pastor at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, is the organizations first black president, Oliver said. He will speak at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.
