WARNER ROBINS -- The City Council will return to Thursday precouncil meetings during the month of November.
After the council approved the fiscal 2012 budget in June, precouncil meetings have been held on the same Monday as the regular council meetings. With the councils recent calls to the mayor for more than an hour of review before they must vote on items, precouncil meetings were scheduled for 4 p.m. on Nov. 15 and Nov. 29.
Regular council meetings are held the first and third Monday of the month. The next will be Monday.
Council members began asking for work sessions about a month ago, and the debate came to a head at an Oct. 15 meeting day where they were asked to pass a measure about state loan for capital items.
Councilman Mike Brashear said the Thursday precouncil meetings this month are meant to be work sessions and may not be a permanent reversion to dual meeting days.
