Former Perry standout Casey Hayward was named the NFL’s defensive rookie of the month for October on Thursday.

Hayward, who was drafted by Green Bay in April, tied for the NFL lead in October with four interceptions. Hayward’s four interceptions are tied for the third most in the NFL this season and are the most among rookies. He is the only player in the league with four interceptions on the road.

Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin was named the offensive rookie of the month.
