Four of the six GHSA football classifications are topped by unanimous No. 1 selections in the AP prep football poll.

Northside is one of those four, and the Eagles (Class AAAA) are putting some distance between them and No. 2 M.L. King. Northside is 17 points ahead of the second-ranked team. The team closest to Northside in the rankings has lost each of the past two weeks. Tucker lost to Stephenson to fall out of the top spot, and Stephenson lost to Miller Grove after ascending to No. 2. M.L. King plays Stephenson this week.

Peach County received all but one of the first-place votes in Class AAA, with Thomson drawing the other. Thomson plays No. 3 Washington County this week.

Warner Robins remained No. 10 in AAAAA , and Westside stayed at No. 10 in Class AAAA.

Vidalia, Lamar County and Fitzgerald remained the Nos. 3-5 teams in Class AA, respectively. Bleckley County jumped into the poll at No. 10 ahead of its showdown at Lamar County on Friday.

Wilcox County and Wilkinson County both entered the Class A poll at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
