A woman was shot Thursday afternoon in a vacant lot near 342 Rose Ave. in Payne City, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses told deputies they heard shots and saw two young men running toward Vineville Avenue, according to a news release. The injured woman walked until she was found by a passerby who called 911. Macon police and Bibb deputies spotted 17-year-old Vancleto Thomas Gray Jr. and a 16-year-old boy sitting on steps leading to a Ridge Avenue apartment building. After questioning, they were charged with aggravated assault, said Bibb County sheriff’s Lt. Gregory Rachel.
