Slate Smith of Hixson, TN, wheels by, with the old Miller High School as a backdrop, on the bicycle he was asked to ride in his role in a commercial filming in Macon Thursday. Members of the crew on the commercial were tight lipped as to what the ad was for or what it would promote.

A get-out-the-vote commercial filmed in Macon three weeks ago is now available to view online.

The 87-second video, a shorter version of which will be shown on TV, can be seen at www.myvoteisthedifference.com. It depicts a small boy slowly riding a bicycle past several dilapidated areas around Macon, including the old Miller High School, to the soft, slow tune of “My Country ’Tis of Thee.” Sound bites related to the state of the economy play as the boy is riding.

It ends with the words “You decide his future by deciding theirs” on the screen.

The ad appears to have an anti-Obama slant, and underneath the video on the website is the statement “America is hurting. We’re going into our 44th month with an unemployment rate above 8%. After being promised change, we haven’t seen it. This Election Day, your vote is the choice between a broken economy and a brighter future. Help make the difference--VOTE!”

According to a jobs report released Friday, the nation’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in September

The video does not state who paid for the ad.
