Friday October 5th
The Scott Little Band at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom
The Scott Little Band is as at home in Macon as they are in their hometown of Atlanta. Their brand of Americana and country reflects the rural Southern lifestyle that permeates even the big city of Atlanta. If you were to describe the bands sound, they would be happy if you said their music brings out the feeling of rain on Georgias red clay. Get ready for a country good time this First Friday at the Hummingbird. 21 and older. 10 p.m. $5.
Brass Transit at the Grand Opera House
The band Chicago is a fun band to listen to if you love a lot of different styles of music. They were a constant jam session that seemed to be unable to make up their minds if they were rock, jazz, disco or R&B. Well, Brass Transit is made up of some of Canadas best studio musicians who just happen to love the music of Chicago, so thats what they play. Its the next best thing to hearing Chicago in their prime. All ages. 7:30 p.m. $37 for adults; $16 for students.
Saturday October 6th
Stereomonster at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom
Im really glad the people of Macon have embraced Stereomonster the way they have. This young fusion group is full of energy and is fun to watch. Their rock/hip-hop fusion would be very understated if you were to compare it to the rock/rap bands such as Limp Biscuit, Korn, Linkin Park and others that were popular in the late 90s. You can tell that Stereomonster takes a lot of time to craft good music and good lyrics. Though they blend different styles, they show respect for all the music they bring together. 21 and older. 10 p.m. $5.
A2Z Band at the Fish N Pig
Autumn is upon us and theres only so many weekends of this beautiful cool weather left where we can enjoy sitting on the water. So, we better head on down to the Fish N Pig while we can. Have a great dinner and enjoy a drink while listening to the Ultimate Party Band, the A2Z Band. A2Z covers all of the great classic rock favorites that you love. Come for the food and stay for the music. All ages. 7:30 p.m. Free.
