Schools and other community-based nonprofit support organizations are being invited to apply for UnitedHealth HEROES grants.
The grants, provided by United Health Care and Youth Service America, are to develop hiking, walking and running programs for youth, with the aim of fighting childhood obesity.
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to youth-led programs in Georgia that include an activity element as well as a service component that focuses on education and advocacy regarding childhood obesity.
