UPDATE: Wesleyan Drive area power now restored

Published: October 4, 2012

A tree on power lines wiped out electricity for 1,470 Georgia Power customers and nearby traffic lights shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Crews were able to restore service for most of the area, but 330 homes and businesses near the 1400 block of Wesleyan Drive didn’t get power back until after 6 p.m., Georgia Power officials said.

The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department was called to the scene and firefighters requested Bibb County deputies to assist with traffic on the two-lane road, which is not far from the fork at Forest Hill Road.
