Students may learn about service academies Saturday in Warner Robins

September 26, 2012

Eighth- through 12th-grade students can learn about U.S. service academies, including how to enroll, at an Academy Day event Saturday in Warner Robins.

Representatives from the Military Academy, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Air Force Academy and Merchant Marine Academy will be available for questions 10 a.m.-noon in the Century of Flight Hangar at the Museum of Aviation, according to a news release.

Eighth District U.S. Rep Austin Scott will speak at the event. Representatives of U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson also will be present.

With the exception of the Coast Guard Academy, students must have a Congressional nomination to the schools.
